Oh, What A Smashing Good Week!

What a lovely week here at Stoneblossom…with Kate & William’s wedding on our mind, we have been (splendidly) up to our eyeballs in Orchids. A flower as majestic and magical as they come!

We are blushing (and now gushing) over such a delightful week of royal treatment!

On Monday, Dennis made his show stopping appearance on FOX Providence’s Rhode Show, delighting us all with his expertise on designing a royal tablescape fit for a king. Bravo Dennis! Now, just don’t leave us for your own t.v. series.

By Wednesday we were knees deep in white, sultry orchids, dark plum callas, and feathers galore (sense a theme?) for the big reveal at FOX Providence’s City Bride Event last night at the Biltmore Hotel.

Ooh…the dresses were divine and the city lights were delightful!

The night’s big reveal of one special couple winning a great wedding called for sultry & sleek designs. Our take on modern majestic, delicate orchids and an abundance of candlelight (of course).

Shamrocks and Leprechauns

A little Leprechaun stopped by the Stoneblossom studio this week. He brought with him a beautiful bouquet of shamrocks and a whole plate of Zeppoles!! He sure did spread a great amount of cheer as he hopped around our space. His little visit inspired us because of the vast amount of green that surrounded him.

He got me thinking about how truly great the color green is. It makes the perfect addition to any party or event. Green looks stunning as a focal color or even as an accent color. It also looks great combined with many other hues like blue, yellow, or purple.

We’ve designed multiple weddings and parties with beautiful green blossoms. We just adore bright green cymbidium orchids and plump spider mums. Oh, and how can I forget about gorgeous succulents potted in a sweet vessel, surrounded by fresh moss?

SPRING FEVER!

With the taste of the mild temperatures this weekend and the clocks springing forward for daylight savings time we all have a bad case of spring fever here at the Stoneblossom studio. We are ready to hang up our winter coats and trade them in for our sundresses and sandals. However, the best part about the warmer temperatures rolling in and longer days ahead is that the 2011 Wedding Season is right at our fingertips!

The flower markets are beginning to fill with a variety lush and fragrant spring blossoms. As we prance through the aisles of blossoms, it’s hard to not burst out in song and dance. The peonies, the hyacinth, the anemone… we just love it all!

However, it’s not just the flowers in the markets that we love, it’s the weddings and events that we have the privilege of planning and designing. We are just so honored to be able to work with such lovely couples each year. We truly fall in love with every one of our fantastic couples. Each couple has a style that is unique to them, and we have such a blast meeting with them, discovering their style, and assisting in making their wedding day as beautiful as they hoped. Pure Bliss: Celebrations!

We love weddings and parties, absolutely everything about them! That would certainly include the new magazine called Bliss Celebrations. This is a new publication that highlights everything fantastic about the wonderful world of entertaining. It focuses on color themed events, paying close attention to details, and so much more. The pages are filled with fabulous inspiration for whatever event that you are planning.

As a matter of fact, a couple of weddings that we’ve designed this past season were featured in the guide. This past July 4^th weekend we were in Woods Hole, Massachusetts designing a stunning nautical themed wedding. Not one detail was overlooked at this magnificent affair. The bride and groom of the next featured wedding did not let the rain spoil their special day. The storm clouds of Hurricane Earl rolled in just as this happy couple was about to say their vows. However, they took advantage of the storm clouds and used them as the perfect addition to their photos. All the details of this event held at OceanCliff in Newport, RI were planned by the wonderful Alexis from Unique Weddings by Alexis. See the three-page spread for yourself!

While the last feature was not a wedding, it was nothing short of extravagant. Club Zilla was created for the very special guest being honored at her Bat Mitzvah. Rhode Island Country Club was the setting for this spectacular celebration planned by the incredible Wendy Joblon.

* Snowflakes Are in the Air *

I glanced out the window while sitting at my desk today and noticed some snowflakes in the air. It totally warmed my heart seeing those little white flakes fall from the sky! Even though the temperatures are a bit cooler than I would prefer, this truly is such a wonderful time of the year. There are excellent sales in all the stores, people are hosting fabulous parties, and many people enjoy incorporating some incredible concepts in their decorating.

We have been busy beavers here at the Stoneblossom studio. Some of our corporate clients have asked us to install their holiday decorations. Take a peek at what we have been up to!

An Evening of Enchantment Recap

Our Bride’s Night was a complete success! Over 200 brave souls endured the nightmarish wind and rain to come party it up with us at the Providence Botanical Gardens and we did not disappoint.

Could you ask for a more enchanted venue?
