Honeymoon Essentials

I don’t know what the weather is like where you live, but lately we’ve been having only the most dreadful variety here. Rain and gray skies for days on end makes me crave sunshine and warm sandy beaches like a pregnant  lady craves pickles. So I’m using today’s post as an excuse to mentally check-in to a wonderfully luxe, absurdly exotic honeymoon suite. And what would I bring on this sublime vacation? Well, I’m glad you asked…

Save The Date: East Greenwich Wedding Walk

Stoneblossom has been selected to participate in the East Greenwich Wedding Walk and we are beyond excited! Please join us along with a lovely cast of  21 local wedding vendors as we put on an incredible display of bridal goods and services just for you on Saturday, April 10th from 12pm – 5pm. And the best part? Each participating business is offering something special for brides and their friends!

Diamond pendant raffles for brides (and friends) and 15% off wedding bands & engagement rings at Dugan Custom Jewelers. Complementary grilled pizza and snacks at Café Fresco. Discount off in store dresses at Zuzu’s Petals. Just to name a few!

We will be setting up shop inside New England Invitations on 36 Main Street in downtown East Greenwich and promise it will be one you won’t want to miss! Truly a lovely excuse to get out of the house, shake old man winter off and get excited about planning your wedding day! And what better way than to have a meet & greet with some of Rhode Island’s top wedding vendors?

And now, for a little teaser… As part of our display for the East Greenwich Wedding Walk we have decided to put together an inspired reception table, bridal bouquet & other fixings based on this style board. Think of it as a mini wedding of sorts.

The Colors: Palm Green, Navy Blue, Creamy White

The Concept: Hamptons flower market –  Cool. Fresh. Organic.
Since the color palette of blue, green and white is so unmistakably coastal, we’ve decided to marry the cool breeziness of the coast with the fresh organic feel of a French flower market.

Charming, no? You simply must plan on joining us on Saturday, April 10th to see how we pull it all together. We hope to see you there!

Stunning Reception Centerpieces

Your reception centerpiece should be the biggest investment you make for your wedding flowers. Your guests will be parked in front of them for a good four hours, so you need more than just a beautifully designed centerpiece but one with interesting details to capture your audience’s attention. Today we will share with you some of our favorite ideas for ravishing centerpieces.

Fabric Wrapped Vases:

Stressing over peonies vs poppies? Put the focus on your vases instead by wrapping them in eye-catching fabrics that give them a textured look and feel. Keep the look clean and not messy by choosing flowers in the same color family.

Props As Centerpieces:

Re-think the term “reception centerpiece” and incorporate decorative accessories (like the kind you would use to spruce up your pad) into your centerpieces. Sparkly spheres, old books, brilliant mercury glass pieces, even a decorative statue like this one can become the focal point of your tables.

An Eclectic Collection Of Vases:

Like the mix and matched wildflower look? Go with a monochromatic mix of vases in  different shapes and sizes for your tables. Fill them with lots of  colorful flowers for a pulled-together look.

Potted Centerpieces:

Earth friendly and beautiful. The best part is that you and your guest can take them home and be reminded of your wedding day for years to come.

Unexpected Touches:

Wow your guests by setting up typewriters bursting with fresh blooms. The more unlikely the container, the better. Be adventurous when selecting the components of your centerpiece… try adding cacti! Don’t be put off by the prickles – cacti arranged in different sized vessels create an organic look that’s as beautiful as it is original. Juxtapose these barbed beauties with softer blossoms, like hydrangea or garden roses.

We hope you’ll be inspired to take more chances with your table decor and think outside the standard centerpiece box!

Fresh & Swank Bridal Accessories

So you’ll most likely be wearing white on the big day, but why not show off your unique personality with some rockin nontraditional accessories? We’ve scoured the interwebs to find our favorite must have bridal accessories… and there’s no something old on this list.

It’s your day and everyone will undoubtedly have all eyes on you. Why not flash them a little of your stylish flair? The most memorable brides are definitely the most intriguing ones.

I wouldn’t recommend taking too many risks with your accessories for fear of looking trendy or faddish, instead concentrate on one accessory for an unexpected dash of youthful vogue.  How will you be making a style statement with your bridal accessories?
