Tuesday’s Toast: Deliciously Divine Details

Happy Tuesday here at Stoneblossom!

The design floor is busy & bustling with blooms everywhere! The delight of the spring & summer season is the tiny nuances, the sweet subtleties, and the little slices of personal detail all scattered about these sunshine weddings.

It’s these precious, well thought out, details that make an event so personal and individual. We love helping our favorite bride & grooms-to-be incorporate themselves into their spectacular celebration. From the sweet touch of country bees buzzing above the escort cards to the double take of a shimmering butterfly nestled into a centerpiece, they all exemplify a playful personality.

Bringing The Outdoors In

Oh, how these courteous details make a memorable statement of “welcome”.

A Cozy Courtesy

How divine are these wraps, all coordinated in the wedding’s color scheme and presented perfectly packaged for guests? My most favorite (of course) treat is when a couple personalize the signature spirits awaiting you at the bar. Mmm…

A Hometown Spirit

Or these hand painted signs that make you feel a bit at home? Seriously…It just makes you feel farm chic!

Farm Chic

Now, some details are all tied together with a little bouquet for your four-legged family members.

Bark Worthy Touches

But as always here at Stoneblossom, our most special, most favorite, most memorable detail exudes a sigh worthy moment of L-O-V-E.  Ahhhhh….cheers to delicious details all season long!

One of my absolute favorite things about floral design is how a single flower can be used in so many unique ways. I love how one arrangement can look so different from the next, even when the same flowers are used.

While I adore gorgeous and lush arrangements, I’m a big fan of non-traditional arrangements too. I like to think of flower arrangements as a blank canvas, just waiting to blossom with color. There are so many fun ways to use flowers to create a stunning focal point at any event. Over this past season alone, our designers have created some fabulous designs with orchids, spider mums, roses, and so many other great blossoms. I can’t wait to see what phenomenal creations they come up with during this upcoming season. Take a look at some of my favorite that we’ve designed in the past!

Shamrocks and Leprechauns

A little Leprechaun stopped by the Stoneblossom studio this week. He brought with him a beautiful bouquet of shamrocks and a whole plate of Zeppoles!! He sure did spread a great amount of cheer as he hopped around our space. His little visit inspired us because of the vast amount of green that surrounded him.

He got me thinking about how truly great the color green is. It makes the perfect addition to any party or event. Green looks stunning as a focal color or even as an accent color. It also looks great combined with many other hues like blue, yellow, or purple.

We’ve designed multiple weddings and parties with beautiful green blossoms. We just adore bright green cymbidium orchids and plump spider mums. Oh, and how can I forget about gorgeous succulents potted in a sweet vessel, surrounded by fresh moss?

Ready to be inspired just like the little Leprechaun inspired us? Take a look at some of these special blossoms and bouquets…

Green is the perfect color for any bride or even for your groom:

Green also looks great on your tables!

We hope that you all had a fabulous St. Patrick’s and St. Joseph’s Day!

SPRING FEVER!

With the taste of the mild temperatures this weekend and the clocks springing forward for daylight savings time we all have a bad case of spring fever here at the Stoneblossom studio. We are ready to hang up our winter coats and trade them in for our sundresses and sandals. However, the best part about the warmer temperatures rolling in and longer days ahead is that the 2011 Wedding Season is right at our fingertips!

The flower markets are beginning to fill with a variety lush and fragrant spring blossoms. As we prance through the aisles of blossoms, it’s hard to not burst out in song and dance. The peonies, the hyacinth, the anemone… we just love it all!

However, it’s not just the flowers in the markets that we love, it’s the weddings and events that we have the privilege of planning and designing. We are just so honored to be able to work with such lovely couples each year. We truly fall in love with every one of our fantastic couples. Each couple has a style that is unique to them, and we have such a blast meeting with them, discovering their style, and assisting in making their wedding day as beautiful as they hoped. Take a look at some of favorite spring bouquets to kick of the season.

* Snowflakes Are in the Air *

I glanced out the window while sitting at my desk today and noticed some snowflakes in the air. It totally warmed my heart seeing those little white flakes fall from the sky! Even though the temperatures are a bit cooler than I would prefer, this truly is such a wonderful time of the year. There are excellent sales in all the stores, people are hosting fabulous parties, and many people enjoy incorporating some incredible concepts in their decorating.

We have been busy beavers here at the Stoneblossom studio. Some of our corporate clients have asked us to install their holiday decorations. Take a peek at what we have been up to!

A Lovely Surprise

This was such a lovely morning. I had just taken the first sip of my delicious latte and logged on Facebook. Much to my surprise, there was a notification letting me know that we were featured today on The Ebury Collection’s blog. It’s a fabulous site from the United Kingdom’s own Hannah Gooch. On her site she showcases everything “for your perfect wedding” by highlighting style ideas and vendors.

Her posting today was all about another one of our favorite couples, Sarah and Kyle Hinchey. Their Tuscan-Inspired celebration took place at Belle Mer’s Island House in Newport, RI. From Sarah’s gorgeous bouquet of creamy white Lily of the Valley, to their ceremony arrangements that perfectly framed the couple as they said their vows, all the way to their beautiful Tuscan tables for their reception – we loved it all! These fabulous images were taken by Kristin Spencer Photography and the incredible lighting was provided by Ormonde Productions. This event was planned by one of our favorite event planners, Donna Kim,  of  The Perfect Details.

Escort Cards

“What should I do for my escort card table?” This is a reoccurring question that many brides ask. The thing is, this table is an open canvas where you can do whatever you would like. It’s a place where you can setup a traditional row of cards, or do something more unique, like nestle your cards in a bed of grass adorned with pretty ribbons. We have seen some really creative ideas.

This stunning Manzanita branch was surrounded by clouds of puffy white hydrangea and lit with abundant candlelight. A beautiful tailored linen with with crystals scattered on the tabletop. Truly one of my favorites.

Martini Anyone? This next idea is so clever. Over-sized martini glasses with rainbow floral foam and a green spider mum was the main concept for the table. The escort cards looked like a lime slice, wedged right on the rim of the glass. An extremely creative approach, guaranteed to to be a topic of conversation among your guests!

How cute is this? Wheat grass banded with pretty ribbons and decorated Gerber daisies and miniature animated bumblebees. It is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face who takes a stroll to find their name.

You could always line your cards in a row, and place a stunning floral arrangement on the table. It’s a traditional approach, but still gorgeous. Here are some of my personal favorites.
