The Bags are Packed! Our Corporate and Destination Event Decor and Florals are World Class!

We’re really proud of this Asian-inspired event at Maui’s Grand Wailea (fondly nicknamed the Grand Walk-a-lotta!). An elegant Final Night Dinner for a corporate incentive program – it was a labor of love with spectacular results.

We chose square tables to allow plenty of space for our luscious  tablescapes!

White silk table runners with a flocked black design were contrasted against cerise tablecloths for terrific “Wow” as guests entered!

Orchids, orchids and more orchids!!! We hand-strung over a thousand pink phalaeonopsis orchids and suspended them over all the dinner tables! Crystals added extra sparkle and just enough weight to prevent tangles.

What an effect!

In addition to the striking Buddha and orchid Tablescape above – we created two other unique tableaus. We couldn’t resist the Bronze Carp contrasted with the Woven Bamboo Buri Ball. Masses of pink mokara orchids provided a big splash of color and texture. A confetti of black river stones connected all the elements – including the striking gilded Lotus Flower Votives.

We had to have those square black chargers. Our custom chair covers combined black satin and printed fabric – a great Kimono look for each chair. We shipped most everything by boat from the mainland.

Our third combination was anchored by Bronze Horses replicated from those of the Han Dynasty. Gorgeous – especially nice enhanced by pinspots – a dedicated beam of light for each table center.

A little night music! John Cougar Mellencamp rehearses for the big night.

If a Destination Wedding is what you’re considering – or you need seasoned design experts to seamlessly guarantee the WOW for your Corporate Event – look no further! Please call us for a consultation. Our bags are always packed and ready!!!

Beautiful Blooming Branches

As a floral designer one of the things that always seems to leave you awestruck are blooming branches. Few things are as symbolical of spring as they are. Dogwood, cherry blossom, magnolia and quince all magical in their own way. These delicate blooms are short lived and once they’re gone (April – May), it’s a year until you see them again.

Use them to add dimension and height to your reception tables

Or to create eye catching displays throughout the reception, like this escort table:

As you might have guessed, because of the delicate and short lived nature of these precious blooms, they can carry quite the price tag. A great way to achieve the same look within a budget is to ask your floral designer to provide you with non-blooming branches and then adding your own handcrafted blooms, made of paper or tulle like in this D.I.Y tutorial found on Beetlegirl:

Obsessed: J Crew Weddings & Parties

Oh, J Crew. You play my heart’s song. I am forever in awe of your preppy chic creations and your weddings collection is sooo dreamy…

The most perfectly approachable designs in luxe fabrics with delicate and creative details.

For your girls – simple and stunning. Clean lines and a fabulous array of colors.

And we can’t forget the men folk. Suit or tux make sure your boys look dapper in handsome tailored pieces.

Pretty gorgeous, no? Not to mention budget friendly. Plus you get unmatchable customer service from your very own personal wedding shopper, who can help with sizes, suggest colors and make fitting appointments. J Crew, you really know how to make a girl swoon.

Featured Wedding: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

This extremely special celebration was a floral and event designer’s dream! The amazing client, the heady concept, the inspirational surroundings – we’d be hard pressed to ask for more!

On a perfect, late August afternoon the nuptials were exchanged under a massive Oak. What about these two angels  (in addition to a cannon blast!) to start things off:

The Ringbearer had a custom Dupioni pillow tied with a bow to match his orange tie!

Cerise and Tangerine – perfect “pop” palette! We re-purposed the large pieces later in the dinner tent…

Gardens everywhere!!! Guests meandered to the formal one – where the music and libations flowed…

Gorgeous…. And we so loved making this “just picked” bouquet full of summer’s best New England garden fare.

It was exactly as she always dreamed it would be…

Long wooden Tuscan farm tables were graced with our canopies of birch and vines – dripping with hanging votives….

Mossy pots overflowed with garden flowers – with wooden lanterns and votives to punctuate each lush meandering tablescape.

Oak, maple and bittersweet  above- all clipped from the woods – had focal points of zinnia and snap.

Letterpress Menus and Table Numbers…

For the dinner tent we wanted a casual “al fresco” dinner under the stars. A clear-topped tent was the perfect choice -set in a wooded clearing – the canopy of trees surrounding it brilliantly lit by our lighting team.

The effect after dark is something guests will never forget.

Rustic chicken with sage….

But of course – dancing hasn’t even begun!  Pie is served in the sexy lounge tent where a band plays till midnight….

When the LA DJ takes over, the lights go down and the gyrations don’t stop till well after dawn!

Whew. Just amazing. We loved every minute of it!!!!
